          The Aurel Stroe Cultural Center in Busteni is hosting an impressive wood sculpture exhibition by Nicolae Lupu. For a month, art lovers are invited to admire the master's works, suggestively titled "Dreams." The sculptor was born in Moscow in 1961 and holds a degree in sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bucharest. Having settled in Ploiesti, his signature appears on numerous busts and commemorative plaques throughout Prahova County. Nicolae Lupu is also the author of the Sun and Moon sculptures in the courtyard of the Aurel Stroe Cultural Center in Busteni.

           The Exhibition "Dreams and Friends"

          "At fifty years old, I dream alongside my friends about love." This is how artist Nicolae Lupu describes himself as he launched his sculpture exhibition "Dreams and Friends" last night at the Art Gallery in Ploiesti. The event was attended by cultural figures and friends of the artist. A visionary, fascinated by myths and folklore, Lupu captivated his audience with works that strive for poetic essence. The new collection includes 39 pieces, most of them depicting his friends. The "Dreams and Friends" exhibition impressed all those who attended the event. Nicolae Lupu was born in Moscow in 1961 and has launched dozens of exhibitions both in Romania and abroad. His portfolio also includes a wide range of monumental works as well as stained glass creations. The exhibition, dedicated to his friends, will be open until May 4th.

          From April to August, events at the Casa de Cultură in Bușteni (pictured) will take place one after another, ranging from small to large-scale gatherings. The activities will kick off this week with a sculpture exhibition displayed in the courtyard of the Casa de Cultură and in front of the City Hall. The exhibition will feature large-scale works by the Ploiești-based artist Nicolae Lupu. The sculptures will be themed around the Easter holidays and will remain in the town for about three weeks.           The town of Plopeni, whose emblem features an oak leaf, has every chance of rooting a beautiful tradition, initiated by the first edition of the International Sculpture Camp taking place these days. The event is organized by the Prahova branch of the Union of Visual Artists, the County Museum of Natural Sciences, the local administration, and the town's cultural house. Alongside the artist Chavdar Gatev Velcev from Bulgaria, sculptors from Ploiesti, Bucharest, Buzau, and Iasi are participating (Constantin Marzea, Danut Dumitru Draghiciu, Simion Cristea, Nicolae Lupu), as well as students Marin Stoica and Mihail Lupu.
